The topic of "slavery" is always relevant, because labor is childish and gender-based, with low wages for vulnerable layers of society, is always present. If you want to join the coverage of these topics, but don't know the context very well, then assistance with essay topic selection will cover this gap.

Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride
Video, Testimony, and Analysis
Monday, December 8, 2003, 7:30 PM
sponsored by UFCW Local 789

Earlier this fall, thousands of immigrant workers and immigrant rights advocates participated in a Freedom Ride, riding buses from eleven cities to Washington, D.C., and New York City. Among them was a busload from the Twin Cities. They were greeted by rallies in dozens of cities along the way, and they lobbied Congress for immigrants' and workers' rights and demonstrated the centrality of immigrants to the future of the labor movement. The AFL-CIO and many unions were prominent sponsors of this project.
Come see a rough cut of a video documentary on the Freedom Ride being prepared by Howard Kling and Randy Croce of the University of Minnesota's Labor Education Service. Hear directly from participants in the Ride. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the project and analyze its significance for the future of the labor movement.
